If you're not a member of The Brompton Club but are keen to go, this may well be your chance.
For Piers Adam and Nick House - its irrepressible owners - are opening it up to the public for the very first time. John DeLucie, the renowned New York City-based founding chef of the popular Waverly Inn (still marked out to be the city's top restaurants) and owner now, too, of the Crown on Upper East Side and The Lion in the West Village is coming to London. Well, South Kensington to be precise.
Featuring on this much-anticipated pop-up menu? Yellowfin Tuna Tartare with Dijon Emulsion and Avocado, Chicken Pot Pie served with Baby Vegetables, Mac and Cheese with Truffles and The Lion Burger Special Blend, a burger stuffed with Pork Belly, Provolone, Smoked Cheddar, Caramelized Onion and Tomato.
So, have you ever been tempted by the Brompton Club's oak-panelled dining room and colonial-style club room? Now's your chance. Come to the Lion, John De Lucie's expecting you until the end of July.
