Do you know much about Malaysian food? If not, head to Jom Makan ... literal translation, 'Let's Go Eat'.
Opened very recently in Westfield Stratford, Jom Makan offers menus packed full with Malaysian family recipes, Kuala Lumpur street food and a whole host of dishes produced as a result of Western fusion.
Popular so far are Nasi Lemak Ayam, (a mixed plate of coconut rice and chicken rendang with a hard boiled egg and sprinkled with crispy fried anchovies, peanuts and spring onions, £8.90) and Roti Canai (traditional Malaysian griddled flat bread, £2.00).
But there's much more than just that to try. There are overwhelmingly large sharing menus for £22 and the addictive Kek Choklat (chocolate brownie with fresh lychee and grapes, £3.60) for those looking to indulge in pudding.
Give it a go. And if Westfield Stratford is too far for you .. Jom Makan can also be found at the other Westfield ... and in Soho, too.
