Fancy perfecting your pirouettes in the shadow of the capital’s iconic London Eye? Well the EDF Energy London Eye is reprising the popular Eyeskate and the rink opens tomorrow 18 November with a breathtaking free performance of The Nutcracker on Ice choreographed and performed by the National Ice Skating Association.
But if you think you can do better, the Eye will host a Spectacular Skate-Off on Sunday 4 December, a free-to-enter competition for budding skaters with the winner being crowned the London Eye’s ice-skating champion. Everyone’s a winner though as all those taking part will receive a complimentary ticket to the London Eye.
But ice isn’t just for skating on – it’s also exceptionally good for keeping your Champagne chilled to perfection so visitors can also get involved in the Vinopolis Pommery Champagne Tasting Experience. Guided by Vinopolis experts, you’ll sample five elegant Champagnes and take home tasting notes guaranteed to impress at Christmas parties.
And then for something really special how’s about booking the Eye’s Champagne Capsule for a bubble-fuelled rotation around the London skyline? Alternatively, the Mistletoe Cupid’s Capsule comes complete with the obligatory mistletoe, a bottle of Pommery Brut Royal Champagne and a box of luxury Charbonnel & Walker pink Champagne truffles.
Finally if all that ice is making you a bit chilly, couples and groups can cosy up with individual Mulled Wine Experiences or the Mulled Wine and Mince Pies Private Capsule in which you can sip on a warming glass of the aromatic beverage and devour delicious mince pies a-plenty.
