Callooh Callay

Callooh Callay is inspired by Lewis Carolls' poem Jabberwocky, we like to think the bar and the verse are similar in that we're both nonsensical, highly confusing, and difficult to comprehend - in an entertaining and endearing way. Often people walk into Callooh Callay, scan the room in 10 seconds and think they've sassed us out. Not so; a seemingly functionless wardrobe door provides access to a lounge, and behind heavy satin curtains you'll find a stairway to Shoreditch heaven - The Jubjub Bar.

The Jubjub bar is London's only non-members, members bar. It feels like a members bar; with seating for just 25 guests, the drinks are exquisite, the spirit shelf is full of some of the best liqueur as well as limited edition and rare spirits but there is no membership fee. Tables are by reservation only and you have to request it specifically before we'll offer it to you. To gain entry you just need to love your cocktails and have an appreciation for spirits. We don't like to boast, and so the Jubjub Bar often goes unnoticed. The Jubjub Bar is a success purely because it's created it's own fabulous reputation through word of mouth. The Jubjub bartenders change weekly; all of our bartenders get a chance to showcase their skills and their areas of expertise with a menu that they write themselves. It's a truly wonderful thing to watch their true craftsmanship and passion on such an intimate stage.
