Covent Garden Hotel

Tim and Kit Kemp, owners of Firmdale Hotels opened COVENT GARDEN HOTEL in April 1996.

The building dates back to the 1890’s when it operated as a French hospital. It is located in Monmouth Street, a charming cobbled street in the heart of the theatre district and surrounded by interesting boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars.

Covent Garden Hotel is “a quirky modern take on traditional English style”. The hotel’s interior has been dramatically designed by owner / designer Kit Kemp, and reflects her personal attention to detail. The ground floor is just like a stage set. A quietly bustling lobby leads into BRASSERIE MAX, the hotel’s bar and restaurant. Up a sweeping stone staircase and into a sumptuous wood paneled drawing room and library, each with a log burning fireplace, quirky furniture and vivid upholstery.

The 58 bedrooms and suites are characterized by dramatic oversized bed heads, bespoke furniture and specially designed lighting. The Loft Suite is set over 2 levels and the Terrace Suite has spectacular views overlooking London’s rooftops. Wherever you look Kit Kemp’s collection of modern art is evident.

Bathrooms are luxuriously designed in granite, mahogany and glass, with walk-in showers, double basins and exclusive bath products by London based perfumer Miller Harris.

On the ground floor is BRASSERIE MAX, which is open all day every day serving seasonal, brasserie style food as overseen by Head Chef Paul Shields. Moving down to the lower ground floor is a state-of-the art screening room with 47 comfortable leather chairs with two private event rooms adjacent.

There is a fully equipped gym with a beauty treatment room and a personal trainer on-site.
