In partnership with Ramsbury Single Estate Spirits

“Nobody ever notices the host at a party, until the drink runs out.” So said the author Anthony Gilbert and he couldn’t be more accurate. Nothing is worse than hosting a good old knees-up to find your guests stuck with an empty glass and boring conversation. The best remedy for this sort of ailment? Cocktails.

But first you must choose the soothing hit of liquor to use. And our friends over at Ramsbury Single Estate Spirits have you covered. They sustainably produce Single Estate London Dry Gin and Single Estate Vodka through a complete process from field to bottle that takes place on their estate in Wiltshire. They sow, grow and distil the primary ingredients themselves and closely monitor each step of the final product from harvesting to distilling. This means that you can rest assured that both you, and your guests, are drinking cocktails that are as environmentally friendly as possible.

What makes Ramsbury’s drinks so special?

The Ramsbury Estate stretches over 19,600 acres of land in Northeast Wiltshire, West Berkshire, and North Hampshire. The distillery was built in 2014 to create super-premium sustainable Single Estate Spirits that ingredients are almost entirely grown on the estate.

They try to make every process as sustainable as possible, whether that’s through electricity from solar panels, heat in the form of steam from the biomass boiler or recycling wastewater through the bio-bed system. The aim is to give as much as they can back to the land. In a nod to their hard work, each bottle is printed with the coordinates of the field where the grain is grown.

What spirits do they produce?

Ramsbury Single Estate Spirits produce both a gin and a vodka. The Ramsbury Single Estate Gin is a modern twist on a classic London dry gin. It is crisp and full-bodied with floral notes and a botanical quince that gives it a moreish and sweet palate. It’s perfect when paired with a classic Indian tonic, a slice of green apple, lime and plenty of ice.

Then there’s the Ramsbury Single Estate Vodka. This is an elegant and medium-bodied vodka, with a rich and creamy texture. It makes a seriously good espresso martini.

Where can I drink Ramsbury Single Estate Spirits?

Jimmy’s BBQ Club returns this summer and Ramsbury Single Estate Spirits is making a special appearance! You can dive into a six-course meal with views of the riverfront, all while sipping on cocktails from Ramsbury.

Served at the two walk up bars and street food kitchen, no bookings are required so you can unwind with cocktails in hammocks, cosy into bean bags or just get lost in conversation with friends and family in the wildflower meadow setting.

However, if you can’t get down to Jimmy’s why not try one of these thirst quenching cocktails at home…
