17 Restaurants Helping To Support Ukraine Right Now

What’s happening in Ukraine right now is devastating. We’re all looking for ways in which we can help, whether it’s donating or volunteering, and now London’s hospitality scene is helping by running fundraising events and showing support. 

You might have seen the hashtag #CookForUkraine circulating across social media. It’s a campaign spearheaded by Russia chef, Alissa Timoshkina and Ukrainian food writer and chef, Olia Hercules that aims to increase awareness of the humanitarian crisis and raise vital funds for UNICEF UK to help aid displaced Ukrainian children and families due to the current situation. The campaign has transformed into a global movement with Clerkenwell Boy also helping to spearhead it, and loads of London’s big restaurant names have joined the movement. If you’re looking for ways to help out, we’ve rounded up some of the restaurants joining the #CookForUkraine campaign, as well as a few others who are also helping out through supper clubs and donations. Read on to find out more.

TĪNG at Shangri-La The Shard, London

Joining #CookForUkraine, this month they will be adding a voluntary £2 to get bill at TĪNG Restaurant for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner to raise invaluable funds which will go towards providing much-needed vital services for the communities in Ukraine who have been displaced and impacted by the escalating crisis.

As well as this, Shangri-La The Shard, London will also be making an overall contribution as a hotel to help support the crisis and those affected.


Searcys is also joining the UNICEF campaign, with its venues adding a voluntary £1 donation to every bill in the restaurant. Restaurants joining the campaign include 116 Pall Mall; St Pancras Brasserie and Champagne Bar by Searcys; Searcys at the Gherkin; Osteria; The Pump Room in Bath’ and Bonfire at the Barbican.


Megan’s will be donating £25,000 to three charities providing humanitarian aid in Ukraine. Chosen by their teams, they will be donating to The Red Cross, who are providing psychosocial support and essentials such as food, warm clothing and first aid. Voices for Children, who are helping children and families from all over the country, providing emergency psychological assistance, and assisting in the evacuation process, and United Help Ukraine, a 100% volunteer run charity helping those on the front lines, the families of wounded and fallen heroes and displaced families in need of aid.

The Piano Works

Live music venue, The Piano Works is spearheading The Hospitality Ukraine Appeal. They are calling on 150 operators, representing venues across the UK to join the campaign, by adding a discretionary £1 to every cover, or with a donation per drink going towards the appeal. Donations will go directly go the British Red Cross. 

Musicians at The Piano Works are releasing a charity single cover of Mariah Carey’s ‘Hero’, with all streaming revenue going directly to the British Red Cross. 

On top of this, for the next three months they are serving up two special cocktails, named Sky Above Grain, with blue signifying the sky and freedom, and yellow touching on the wheat fields that characterise the country, and Sunflower Power, representing the national flower of Ukraine. £2 from every drink will go towards the appeal, and guests have the option to add on £1 to their bill.

D&D London

London restaurant group, D&D are supporting #CookForUkrainer, helping to raise vital funds for UNICEF UK’s Ukraine appeal. They will add a discretionary £2 to bills when customers dine at their venues. 

They are also doing an internal UK team sponsored walk, titled ‘3 millions steps of support’ for Ukraine. As it’s over 3 million steps to Ukraine, all our teams will be walking and tracking their steps collectively to reach this on Saturday 12th March. Every team member is asked to raise or donate £5.70 in the hopes of raising £10,000 across the company. All the money raised in our teams will be matched by D&D meaning a potential £20,000 raised for the charity.

Bob Bob Ricard

This Sunday 13th March sees Bob Bob Ricard City host a fundraising dinner in support of the Ukraine effort. Chef Larry Jayasekera, alongside Bob Bob Ricard City’s head chef Ben Hobson and his team, will be serving up a four-course menu inspired by Ukrainian ingredients and classic dishes. 

Expect dishes such as black truffle potato vareniki; chicken kyiv with wild garlic; Ukrainian potato salad; and pancakes with sweet cottage cheese, Ukrainian winter berries and sour cream ice cream. 

As well as the event, £1 from every bill at both of the restaurant’s sites will be donated directly to the Ukrainian Red Cross. 

Big Mamma Group

As part of the CookForUkraine campaign, Big Mamma Group have added a special dish to their menu to help show support and raise money.

The rich garlic bruschetta, available at Gloria, Ave Mario and Circolo Popolare, is topped with the Ukrainian favourite ‘salo’ – lardo – and fresh herbs. Served with a shot of cool vodka, all of the proceeds will be going towards UNICEF UK’s Ukraine appeal.

Norma, as well as The Stafford food and beverage outlets, have joined in with Clerkenwell Boy’s campaign, #CookForUkraine helping to raise money for UNICEF UK’s Ukraine Appeal. They’ll be adding a discretionary £1 to each customer bill, and if they choose to pay this £1, they will match the £1 donation. All of these proceeds will go directly to UNICEF UK’s Ukraine Appeal.


This Sunday 13th March, chef Yurii Kovryzhenko will be taking over Carousel for a night of Ukrainian feasting. The sharing Sunday lunch feast will feature a one-off menu of pickled vegetables and trout; Borsch soup with duck and prunes; Vareniki dumplings with potatoes and porcini mushrooms; and Ukrainian honey cake. 

Alongside the menu will be a raffle to raise money for those affected by the crisis. All proceeds will be donated to the World Central Kitchen.

Other campaigns include…


This month sees burger joint Haché bring back the Mamushka burger. The burger was originally part of the restaurant’s line up of female chef collaborations, but the limited-edition run of the Mamushka by Olia Hercules, the British-Ukrainian chef and food writer, is available to tuck into from 7th March – 4th April. It will help raise funds for #CookForUkraine. 

They’ll continue showing support with a second limited run charity burger in April, in collaboration with food writer and author of Salt and Time: recipes from a Russian Kitchen, Alissa Timoshkina.


Mayfair’s female members’ club, AllBright will be donating 5% of all food and drinks sales to the Disasters Emergency Committee – Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. The charity helps to provide food, water, shelter and healthcare to refugees and displaced families, and AllBright members’ are being encourage to support the crisis by booking a table at the club’s restaurant.


Indian JKS restaurant Brigadiers are showing their support by donating £1 from every bill in March towards helping the Ukraine crisis. Known for their delicious feasting menus, head down and help show your support.

Pinch Bar

Set up by Ukrainian founders, Yana and Alex, Fitzrovia’s Pinch Bar held a fundraising event last Monday and raised over £5,000 to support Ukraine during this difficult time. 

Going forward, they will be donating 15% of all profits to the British-Ukrainian aid, a charity that helps to support those injured or displaced by the ongoing conflict.

Happy Face Pizza

Both Happy Face Pizza’s Kings Cross and Victoria restaurants have joined the #CookForUkraine campaign. They are offering all guests the option to add £1, £2 or £5 to their bill as part of the ongoing campaign.


Nationwide restaurant delivery service Dishpatch has joined the #CookForUkraine campaign and is offering customers the chance to add £1 at checkout, which Dishpatch will be matching it to make it £2.

Wright Brothers

Seafood specialists, Wright Brothers, will be donating all proceeds from their ‘Ghost Oysters’ to the British Red Cross Ukrainian appeal. Guests can buy a single oyster or platter with as many as they want. 

Henley Town Hall

Henley Town Hall will host #CookForUkraine event this Saturday 12-4pm. Various restaurants and cafes will be getting involved, such as Henley Hawker House and Makan Malaysia. Enjoy a pop-up food hall for a day with the Henley community to support those who are suffering in the Ukrainian conflict.
