We are of course talking about the 90s classic, Gladiators and next month you’ll have the chance to live your best Gladiator life as there’s a Gladiator Extreme Ninja Assault course coming to Merchant Square. Teaming up with Extreme Adventure the course will include the quintuple steps, stepping stones, cargo net, hang tough and balance beam – now is your chance to impress your friends with your skills. If you win, […]
This week is National Afternoon Tea week – aka a chance for the great debate of jam or cream first to be argued ad infinitum and a good excuse to eat as many scones (however you have them) as humanly possible. Amongst the afternoon tea activities is the launch of Timmy Green’s bottomless pop art tea inspired by the legendary artist, Peter Blake. You might not have heard of Peter Blake, but you will recognise his work, he’s the man behind the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover and this year marks its 50th anniversary. Served on […]
When Patty & Bun met with the team over at Yard Sale Pizza, beautiful things happened. They created the Burger Pizza, a collaboration that will see them swap ingredients for a month and turn each other’s favourites into their own. Starting on the 22nd August and running until the 19th September, Yard Sale will be creating the Smokey Robinson pizza made from Yard Sale tomato sauce, crumbled H.G Walter beef patty, caramelised onions, bacon and smokey P&B mayo and topped with Fior Di latte mozzarella. Meanwhile over at Patty & Bun they’ll be cooking up the Holy Pepperoni burger – […]
A fantastical Future Forest with a walk-in breathable aromatic Fruit Cloud…no this isn’t a description of a live-action remake of Charlie and Chocolate Factory but the latest mind-boggling installation from Bompas & Parr. Arriving at Westfield London on the 15th August the installation will boast a selection of immersive activities including educational events like a mini exhibition showcasing plants that create electricity, the magic of spider silk, and a historic tree circus alongside artefacts, artworks and anecdotes about forests and nature. Once you’ve blown your mind with all of that wackiness, get your heart pumping with UK’s first shopping centre […]
What? Jules Heaton was the marketing and communications director at O2 but gave it all up to pursue her love of chips. And good thing she did really, because she created Saucy Chip – which as the name suggests are chips topped with the likes of mozzarella and pesto and gravy. New? Saucy Chip launched in 2014 and has since been touring festivals up and down country, then at the end of April this year they found a permanent home at Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen in Fitzrovia. Where? Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen, 33 – 34 Rathbone Place, Fitzrovia, W1T 1JN, […]
Everywhere you look in London there are bars, the streets are filled with them, but what about the places you aren’t looking? The drinking spots hidden away behind closed doors, masquerading as shops, pharmacies and abandoned buildings. Here are 10 of London’s top hidden bars…which admittedly aren’t so hidden anymore.
What? Borough Market restaurant, Roast, have just launched a new Saturday brunch menu championing British produce and with new twists on classic dishes. New? Whilst Roast isn’t new, the brunch is having only launched a couple of weeks ago. Where? The Floral Hall, Borough Market, Stoney Street, London Bridge, SE1 1TL, www.roast-restaurant.com On the Menu: The menu that chef, Stuart Cauldwell has created is hearty and indulgent, yet refined. Of course, with a name like Roast you’re not going to find buckwheat pancakes or quinoa porridge, but you’re also going to be disappointed if you’re looking for a dirty Full English […]
by CHLOE. – it’s got one of those names, hasn’t it? The sort of name that you’ll see all over Instagram, a name that if you say, ‘I’m just going to get a salad from by CHLOE.’ your life is suddenly something off Pinterest, you probably went to HIIT at 6am and down ginger shots for fun. But we’re ok with that because by CHLOE. is the super successful US-based, plant-based, fast-casual restaurant and soon by CHLOE London will open in Covent Garden. Having opened in 2015 in the West Village, New York City, they’ve now gone on to open […]
You might not have heard of John Morrissey, 19th century boxer, politician and gang member. You’ve probably heard of his gang though, The Dead Rabbits. Yep, Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry’s award-wining New York bar, The Dead Rabbit, is named after a notorious, Irish street gang that controlled much of Lower Manhattan in the mid-19th century – apparently robbing and brawling was their thing. Enough of the history lesson, what you need to know is that the bar, that has won ‘World’s Best Bar’, is coming to Mayfair for one week in August. Opening in Claridge’s, The Dead Rabbit pop-up […]
What did the ocean say to the lighthouse? Nothing, it just waved. Thank you, we’re here all week. But, if the ocean could speak I’m sure it would ask the lighthouse, (specifically Erith Lighthouse on the border of London and Kent), if it knew of any amazing supper clubs happening soon. Well if any oceans or hungry Londoners were wondering, they would be in luck as across August (10th to 27th) and September (7th to 24th) a collection of chefs will host 17 dinners at Erith Lighthouse, each creating distinct menus to complement Erith’s unique riverside location. The menus will take inspiration […]
