Sanook Spa Facial Review – What We Thought

If you’re anything like me you wince every time you’re slapped in the face by a blast of dirty underground air. Throw in the Autumn chill and dry indoor heating and the idea of a facial was most welcome. And what better time than National Chocolate Week when Sanook Spa were offering a special Chocolate Facial. The spa is in the basement of the 5 star Courthouse Hotel, just down from Liberty. Much smaller than I expected, it was very well equipped and I’d imagine that during the day it would be very peaceful. I arrived at 6pm, flustered and straight from […]

45 Jermyn St. Opens

If you’re passing through St James today then you might notice something new; a new face in the neighbourhood, because today sees the opening of 45 Jermyn St. The 113 cover restaurant will be open from breakfast right though to their 10pm late supper menu and will be serving up a modern London cuisine with old favourites alongside new dishes.  At breakfast you’ll find British classics such as marmite crumpets, but more unusually they’ll be served with fried eggs; or for London’s health conscious bulgar wheat with raw vegetables and crème fraiche. Providing for our love of food and our […]

Recognise this scene? You’re off to stay in a hotel, you have to say goodbye to your BFF and as you say goodbye to their little face, you can’t help feeling just a little bit heart broken. Who’ll be there to wake you up, to lick your face, to force you to exercise and who won’t want their share of the mini bar? As you’ve probably gathered we’re talking about our four-legged canine best friends, not humans – I mean if your BFF do all of the above too then…well, good for you. But what if we were to tell […]

Boulestin review – what we thought

Located in the affluent area of St James’s, the recently opened Boulestin has already done itself a service by choosing such an enviable home to set up shop. The French restaurant has several other reasons to count itself smug including a hidden courtyard, large private dining space and high quality cuisine served morning till evening. Kicking things off with the starters we opted for the Seared Scallops served with Rainbow Cauliflowers, Truffles and, most interestingly, a White Chocolate & Vanilla Sauce. The sauce sounds more like it belongs in the dessert section but is actually well placed in the savoury […]
