Tiki on the Thames

Forget hats and scarves, we will be donning our Hawaiian shirts to celebrate Rum Experience Week when it arrives in town on 12th October. Hopefully bringing with it a bit of Caribbean sun, the 14th plays host to a summery daytime festival of all things Tiki: Tiki Vibes/Tiki Tunes/Tiki Cocktails. You really don’t have to be a rum expert to enjoy the day, just a bit of a rum fan. During the boat trip barmen will be shaking up some of the classic greats of the rum cocktail world; Pina Colada and Mai Tai to name but a few and […]

Tapa Room review – what we thought

When wandering up Marylebone High Street trying to find The Providores and Tapa Room, it suddenly made itself known with a sizeable queue of people filling the pavement outside. We nipped inside to secure our booking and saw, as expected, that it was rammed inside. Luckily we were seated quickly and starting browsing the brunch menu which is available 9am-3pm at the weekend.Feeling a bit wild I went for the Sweetcorn and blueberry fritters served with avocado, pomegranate and rocket salad. Sweetcorn and blueberry does seem like an odd mix but it somehow works, the avocado is joined by chunks of […]

Yauatcha Review – What We Thought

What: Deliciously delightful dim sumWhere: Broadgate Circle, the CityWhy you should go there: The service was, without a shadow of a doubt, among some the best we’ve ever experiencedFavourite thing we ate: Venison puff It’s hard to know where to begin with Yauatcha. From the service to the décor to the unbelievably good food, we were blown away by the restaurant. With branches in the City, Soho and across India, Executive Head Chef Tong, who has been a part of the Yauatcha team since it began in 2004, says that one word comes to mind when he looks back at the […]

The Best Champagne Bars in London

In the words of Brigitte Bardot; ‘Champagne is the one thing that gives me zest when I feel tired’ and we couldn’t agree with her more. Not only does it have fewer calories than any other alcoholic tipple but it can’t help but make you feel sophisticated, not that we needed any excuse to divulge in a glass or two. Whether it’s pink, with strawberries or your everyday classic Moet, we’ve rounded up our favourite Champagne Bars to go and enjoy the good stuff. And good stuff it has to be, we’ll be able to tell if it’s ‘Charlemagne’….

Chai Ki review – what we thought

Chai Ki is the latest addition to Crossrail Place, a new development in the City complete with a rooftop garden and views of the dock and beyond. Founder Rohit Chugh has chosen an ideal location as it’s a popular area for hungry workers, with neighbours including Sticks’n’Sushi and The Breakfast Club. Chai Ki opened in August following the launch of Toddy Shop, the bar at Chai Ki, earlier this summer. As soon as we enter I’m hit with a concoction of delicious smells which assures me that I will be eating well tonight. Opting to be a sensible adult for once […]
