Pollen Street Social

It’s been an unspeakably long time coming but then again, Jason’s been rather a busy boy. However, reservation lines for his debut London eaterie Pollen Street Social are due to open (and, we anticipate, to ring off the hook) on 31 March, three weeks before the venue launches on 18 April. Ramsay protégé, Atherton, left Maze restaurant in May 2010 and we can’t wait to see what he can do left to his own devices. He describes the Pollen Street Social menu as “having one foot in the past and the other in the future” – meaning that where classical […]

Since its materialisation, tea has transcended to become a vital staple in today's society, especially as more and more is discovered about the benefits of drinking it. When it comes to tea, the options are endless. Herbal (this category commands such a vast fleet, it really should be in bold), caffeinated, non – caffeinated, with milk, with sugar, with lemon, with honey – mild, strong, bag, no bag, loose, cream/no cream, iced, hot.. yes, I'm still on the topic of tea… So with […]

Boulevard Brasserie

Situated in the heart of Covent Garden's Opera Quarter, Boulevard Brasserie is as an authentic Parisian brasserie as you could want this side of The Channel. Ideally located for Theatreland and the Covent Garden Opera House, this atmospheric little number has recently been taken over by Maxwell's Restaurant Group benefitting from a sympathetic refit but without losing any of its Gallic charm. It's a great place to go on a Friday night – when we visited it was merrily buzzing without being packed to the rafters – and the fact that it's spread over three floors (the basement cellars with […]
