Mamounia Lounge: Review

Last week The Handbook headed over to Curzon Street in Mayfair to Mamounia Lounge, the second Mamounia (the first being in Knightsbridge) to try out their Middle Eastern cuisine. Going on first impressions had we not known about the restaurant below we would have probably kept walking passed it. The terrace in front of the restaurant was filled people smoking shisha, nothing wrong in that, but it just didn’t reflect the great quality food that was being served downstairs. Once we were inside and down the stairs we were led into the restaurant, which was a mix of small tables, […]

Known for its psychoactive properties, it has a long history of ritualistic and medicinal use in Mexico. Chakana

London-born Ibiza party scenster Andrew Dax, Italian party co-ordinator Corrado Mozzillo, and Argentinian curator Augusto Rossillo have been brought together by entertainment entrepreneur Nick House to create brand new club Latino-Pacific club and lounge bar concept Chakana. The name means ‘tree of life’ and the venue itself is reminiscent of an ancient Incan temple filled with mystic treasures – think intricate carvings of the snake serpent, puma and condor sitting alongside depictions of the Chakana itself and a display of skulls lit eerily from within like a celebration of ancestral spirits. The décor is all rich golds, reds and oranges […]

Thanksgiving at Kensington Roof Gardens

The Roof Gardens are going to be celebrating the American Dream and Thanksgiving in the best way possible, with food.  On Thursday 28th November diners will be able to choose from Babylon’s usual restaurant menu or the specially created American theme dishes, and we say as it is available for one night and one night only, don’t miss out and go all American. To start: clam chowder served with crushed water biscuits, followed by turkey. Then of course indulging in America’s sweet tooth and a national favourite: pumpkin pie and cinnamon ice cream.  Of course it wouldn’t be a celebration without cocktails and Babylon will be […]
