Olympic Café & Dining Room

Olympic Studios, the famous London recording studios that once played host to music legends from Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones to Madonna, opens to the public today in its new guise as a Cinema, Private Members’ Club and Café and Dining Room. The enterprise spearheaded by local media couple, Stephen and Lisa Burdge, was part funded by 250 founder members, all of whom paid £5000 each. The Vinoteca chain of wine bars and restaurants has opened in Chiswick this week in a Victorian mid terrace on Devonshire Road on the site of the former Oriental Brasserie. The new venue with its open plan kitchen and seating for around 50 guests, will also feature a wine shop, Around half the seats will be bookable. Restaurant 1701 is the only kosher restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide in the UK it also happens to be situated within the grounds of Bevis Mark synagogue, the oldest synagogue in Britain, dating back to 1701. This Autumn, the V&A has collaborated with Ping Pong to create a selection of cocktails to celebrate the opening of the Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700-1900 exhibition, which is due to launch at the V&A in late October.
