New Basque style eaterie, Donstia is the brainchild of Nemanja Borjanovic and Melody Adams who run wine merchant, Mountain Valley Wines. They were inspired to open a Basque restaurant after they discovered the town of San Sebastian whilst on a wine sourcing trip. Set in a charming row of Georgian shops and restaurants, Donostia is an intimate space seating 40 people with mushroom coloured wood and whitewashed walls. Rupert and Jo Clevely, co-founders of the Geronimo Inns, have just launched The Calf in the Westfield shopping centre in Olympic Stratford: a brand new pop up dining and drinking experience where diners can enjoy fresh British produce, real ales, a selection of wines, and an extensive cocktail list – just minutes from the Olympic Park. This exhibition of photographs by Siobhan Doran gives a unique, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the £220 million, three year restoration of The Savoy hotel. Jubilee Treats from Pierre Herme

Clue: it's a small, round biscuit, characterised by its creamy filling and crunchy exterior. What am I? Yes, you've guessed it. A Macaroon. But head to master chocolate chef and baker Pierre Herme' in London this weekend and you can be getting your mits round an extra special sort. A Jubilee sort, naturally. The delicious creamy biscuit will be garnised with a milk chocolate and Earl Grey tea cream, so to give the effect of drinking tea, when in fact you're eating chocolate-based calorific treats. Priced at £1.85, it's a steal. Try one. They really are delicious.

LIMA

At the end of June LIMA will open on Fitzrovia’s Rathbone Place. The creation of chef Virgilio Martinez and the Gonzalez brothers, LIMA will integrate both traditional and contemporary Peruvian cuisine. Virgilio Martinez is currently chef patron of Central restaurant in Lima and this is his first international solo venture. He will continue to run both ventures in parallel.
