It’s time to get ready for the social event of the century… On good authority from Lady Whistledown, The Lanesborough has teamed up with Netflix and Shondaland to launch London’s first, exclusive Bridgerton-themed afternoon – and you’re invited to experience this Regency event in all its glory.
Hot on the heels of Bridgerton’s new series release, The Lanesborough has announced London’s exclusive Bridgerton inspired seasonal afternoon tea. Launching on 25th March – cleverly timed on the same day as the new series – the tea will pay homage to the Regency era and see fans delight in sandwiches and sweet treats inspired by the popular Netflix series.
The afternoon tea will take place in The Laneborough’s beautiful dining room, home to a domed glass roof, Wedgwood china mounted on the walls and neo-classical grandeur. Just experiencing the setting alone will be magical, so make sure you start dusting off Regency attire ready for the big arrival.
Crafted by head pastry chef Keven Miller, the menu pays tribute to the key families in Bridgerton, as well as ‘Lanesborough House’.
As you’d expect, the afternoon tea itself will be immaculately presented. Crafted by head pastry chef Keven Miller, the menu pays tribute to the key families in Bridgerton, as well as ‘Lanesborough House’. Live like the characters and delight in finger sandwiches and brioche sliders of coronation chicken with fresh coriander; Clarence court egg mayonnaise with wholegrain mustard; and a rare roast beef slider with black pepper mayonnaise and onion seed.
Expect a selection of scones piled high with cream and jam, plus Miller’s curated cake and sweet treats. Celebrating high style and great revelling, ‘The Queen’s Diamond’ is a hand-crafted chocolate blended with honey, green cardamom and white chocolate ganache, displayed in a jewel-coloured ring box to nod to Edwina Sharma, while The Lady Whistledown takes inspiration from the narrator and is made up of a pistachio nut financier and pistachio mousse, coated in milk chocolate and cocoa butter.
Other sweet goodies include ‘The Rake, a cake made from chocolate sable with milk chocolate mousse and a whipped passionfruit curd centre; A True Love Match, inspired by Queen Charlotte and is made up of a light vanilla sponge, strawberry jam and vanilla twisted cream; and the ‘All is Fair in Love & War’, a show-stopping rosewater cheesecake with a raspberry jelly on a crunchy crumble base with sprayed-blue white chocolate.
Take the afternoon up a notch with their limited-edition cocktail. Inspired by the original Regency gin punch, The Pall Mall Cocktail will be served in a high glass teacup and combines Hendrick’s gin and Graham Blend No5 white port. There’s also a non-alcoholic incarnation too.
Book now to seal your ticket to London’s finest Regency event this season. After all, you wouldn’t want to miss a scandal…
