Nicole Kidman Stars In A New Netflix Mystery, The Perfect Couple
Nicole Kidman is having quite a year, first starring in Amazon Prime drama series Expats, before falling for Zac Efron in Netflix comedy A Family Affair. Now, the Big Little Lies actress is starring in The Perfect Couple, a six-part miniseries dropping next month that adapts the best-selling book by author Elin Hilderbrand.
Set on Nantucket island in Massachusetts, it follows a wedding that’s disrupted by the sudden appearance of a body on the beach, and the suspicion and finger-pointing that follows. The cast sees Kidman joined by Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan), Dakota Fanning (The Equaliser 3) and Eve Hewson (Bad Sisters). Here’s all to know so far:
What is The Perfect Couple about?
Amelia (Hewson), a young bride-to-be is marrying into a rich and high-status family in Nantucket in Massachusetts, and all eyes are on the special occasion. The mother of Amelia’s future husband is Greer Garrison Winbury (Kidman), a respected and wealthy novelist, who doesn’t approve of the marriage- but still makes sure the wedding is as expensive and glamorous as high society demands. Everything seems to be going off without a hitch until a dead body washes up on the shore nearby. Everyone is of course shocked, but soon surprise gives way to suspicion as the family and guests start trying to find the perpetrator.

Live Schreiber looks set to be playing Greer’s husband, Tag, with Dakota Fanning playing their daughter Abby, and Billy Howle (The Serpent) and Jack Reynor (Flora and Son) starring as their sons Benji and Thomas. Other cast members set to appear in The Perfect Couple are Meghan Fahy (The White Lotus), Ishaan Khatter (A Suitable Boy) Mia Isaac (Black Cake) and Omar Epps (The Deliverance).
What else do we know?
Netflix recently unveiled their first trailer for Kidman’s eagerly anticipated new drama, giving our first glimpse at the very appealing Nantucket setting and our cast. However, it gives little away about what to expect, closing with Kidman as Greer saying intriguingly: “We never know what’s going on inside someone’s mind really, no matter how close you are.” A Family Affair is set to arrive on Netflix on 5th September.
