Wolfs: Brad Pitt And George Clooney Are Teaming Up For A New Action Comedy
If you loved the Ryan Gosling led The Fall Guy or Kevin Hart’s heist comedy movie Lift, which both released in recent months, you’ll definitely want to check out new action comedy Wolfs.
Pairing up two of Hollywood’s most reliable A-Listers, George Clooney and Brad Pitt, it follows a pair of fixers who find themselves in a bit of rivalry when they’re hired for the same job. Both used to working solo, they’ll have to team up in order to keep things from getting out of hand.
What is Wolfs about?
George Clooney and Brad Pitt starring in an action comedy feels more like 2004 than 2024, but Wolfs is set to take the pair in new directions. It’s been a while since they shared the big screen in the Ocean’s movies (a series which itself is set to return soon) and The Coen Brothers’ Burn After Reading, and for Wolfs, they’re teaming up with Jon Watts, best known for directing the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies.

Both of them play fixers, guys that “get things done”, usually in the criminal world, rolling up their sleeves and dealing with the nitty gritty. We imagine them like in film & TV-Mike in Breaking Bad is probably one of the best-known examples- and the trailer even references that aspect: “I didn’t know people like you really existed”, says Margaret, a character played by Amy Ryan (The Wire).
Wolfs (and yes, it is “Wolfs” not “Wolves”) sees Jack (Clooney) and Nick (Pitt) awkwardly turn up to deal with the same job without realising the other is there, and that they’re meant to work together. Infuriated, they both turn on their employer and say “This isn’t how I work”, being used to acting as “lone wolves”, but they’re left with no choice.
They’re tasked with disposing of a body, but after the body wakes up and they discover he’s been keeping a stash of drugs, things begin to get out of hand. They’re still not best pleased at having been asked to work together, but they’ll have to put aside their differences (despite their very similar outfits) and fend off dangerous threats and a whirlwind series of events to ensure their “fix” goes as smoothly as possible.
Who else stars?
Pitt and Clooney are, of course, the main draw, but Wolfs will also star Ryan, Austin Abrams (Euphoria) as the dead man who turns out to be alive, and Poorna Jagannathan (Never Have I Ever). It’s set to arrive in cinemas on 20th September 2024, and you can watch the trailer below.
