A Surrealist Spectacular

Fashion & Beauty
By | 23rd March 2010

This weekend the glitterati of Edinburgh gathered to view the Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show, which was a stunning spectacle of surrealist magical reality.   For this astounding show the city welcomed the likes of Tatler, for an evening of fashion and finest.  The show is put on by a dedicated committee of students, who this year, unlike previous years have had to battle on in the face of financial shortfalls and turbulent times to create a show stopping event.

The ECFS was sponsored by Citylets, a property and rental advertising agency, with proceeds going to three charities specifically chosen by the committee: Marie Curie, Poppy Scotland and The Scottish Association for Mental Health.  Over previous years the ECFS has raised an accumulated total of more than £250,000 and this year’s total is not set to disappoint.

This glamorous affair was set over two nights; the first of which saw some 1500 of Edinburgh’s hottest students take their places to watch thirty stunning models wearing the latest fashions, including Nicole Farhi, in a jaw dropping extravaganza – enough to make any fashionista excited.  Whereas the second night was a more elite occasion, with Hawke & Hunter playing host to the infamous after party, while 300 guests were treated to a VIP black tie three course meal with music from The Cheek fresh from London Fashion week.
