If you’re partial to a bit of vintage shopping with your mojito at Jumble & Pearls, you can up the ante with Past Forward Retro. This delectable vintage website fuses clubbing with fashion and regularly hosts boutique catwalk shows in conjunction with pop-up sales at venues such as Tuatara and The Paradise in Kensal Green – taking the serious business of partying and style to a whole new level.
The idea is to showcase the clothes and accessories in locations where they will actually be worn – it helps if you don’t clash with the decor after all. And if you’re sticking around in the smoke for Easter, Friday’s offering is hosted by Chelsea’s hip new Tuatara club on King’s Road. It’s invitation only so you’ll have to beg, borrow or blag entry but with four individually crafted walks showcasing a range of vintage and retro wear in addition to items that will be available to purchase from the trade stalls in the VIP room it should be a good ‘un!
There’ll be live music from house band OJO and an after party with DJ George Apperley of Mahiki and Kitts fame.
We like waking up with something more substantial than just our hangover and while a vintage dress may not take you out for breakfast, at least it can be relied upon to stick around.
