Baity Kitchen is a stylish new restaurant launching in Knightsbridge’s Walton Street. Talent behind the venture are a chef and a former fashion publicist – Joudie Kalla-Anagnou and Christina Mouratoglou. Joudie trained under Gordon Ramsay and has worked at both Daphne’s and Papillion and runs a party catering business – also under the Baity Kitchen brand – which has catered for a slew of fashionable clients including Christian Louboutin, Peter Jones, and Bella Freud.
Baity means ‘my home’ in Arabic and the restaurant features cuisine inspired by the girls’ Middle Eastern and Mediterranean backgrounds. Open throughout the day, we’re talking everything from rum soaked sultana danishes to poussin with mint, garlic, coriander and lemon. Soups like chorizo and butterbean are sure to stave off the winter blues and virtuous salads like chicken and celeriac will have you zipped into your new Lanvin for H&M in no time.
All the dishes on the menu will also be available to take home but with a relaxed atmosphere atypical of the area, you’d do well to stick around and dine at the restaurant’s zinc topped wooden tables and aquamarine bentwood chairs overlooking the bijou back garden.
