The Alma, a popular landmark pub in leafy Wandsworth has just unveiled 23 boutique-style bedrooms, along with a refurbished dining room and pub, transforming it into a coaching inn for the 21st century. Whilst still very much a neighbourhood pub, The Alma now offers stylish, modern and luxuriously appointed rooms with quintessentially English charm.
Just like the coaching inns of old, The Alma will provide a relaxed home-from-home for locals and visitors alike, with eating, drinking and lodgings all under one roof. Think of The Alma as a boutique-style hotel without the attitude – a place with a welcoming pub at its heart offering all the comforts and luxuries one would expect from the best modern accommodation.
To tie in with the opening The Alma’s dining room has been totally revamped and the menu reborn to offer British dishes using fresh and seasonal ingredients, sourced locally where possible. Open for a full English breakfast, lunch and dinner, typical dishes include Barnsley lamb chops, slow-cooked pork belly, freshly-caught scallops and 21-day aged steaks with hand-cut chips. Also, newly refurbished is the private Bramford Room, ideal for business events, family celebrations and weddings. For seminars, training days and presentations, it can host up to 80 delegates standing and 60 seated, but is equally suitable for smaller board meetings. It’s also ideal for private celebrations and with its own marriage licence its perfect for those looking for a modern, urban wedding.
