Trust rock 'n' roll hotel The Sanctum Soho to come up a crown jewel of a way to celebrate the royal wedding. First up guests buying into the hotel's Royal Package will find a luxury 'Best of British' goody basket in their rooms complete with the patriotic paraphenalia needed for the big day from union jack cupcakes and flags to tea, scones and mini jams.
However, there's so much more to see. For one weekend only, the hotel is being transformed into the Royal Soho Palace, complete with union jack walk-ways, Pimms o'clock rooftop sundeck and private cinema screening live footage of the ceremony. Not your average picture house, this cinema has luxurious velvet seats and plenty of room to eat, drink, be merry and mingle whilst watching the wedding on a large screen with surround sound a given.
Factor in as many cucumber sandwiches, strawberries and champagne as you can consume (within reason) to toast the newlyweds and if you're still standing by sunset, you'll be invited to continue parting on the roof terrace – all important complimentary glass of Pimms in hand. Then suitably revived, decamp to the No.20 restaurant for a 'Best of British' menu.
29th April – 1st May, from £650 for two nights
