The Handbook

With a drought across the country (admittedly hard to take too seriously if the recent weather’s anything to go by) it’s bound to stop raining soon which mean’s one thing: no, not hosepipe bans – summer picnics of course!

Enter Carluccio’s new hampers – ideal for picnics in the park, messing about in boats at Henley and even summer concerts at Kenwood House – for which Carluccio’s is the official picnic supplier! Each picnic is priced at £45, serves two and comes in a smart, reusable cool-bag that you can keep when you’re done.

The ‘Classic’ hamper includes mouth-watering Italian classics such as focaccia stuffed with ricotta, pancetta, olives and rosemary and poached salmon with a new potato, beetroot and watercress salad. Veggie options include mushroom tart with a mixed leaf salad and fresh asparagus spears with a creamy lemon mayonnaise.

Even the kids are covered (for a tenner a head) and their own (posh) lunchbox comes packed with slices of fresh salame Milanese, creamy cow’s cheese and crunchy stuzzichini (that’s breadsticks though admittedly it sounds way better in Italian) and a mini sponge cake in the shape of a teddy bear for pudd. Order 24 hours in advance and Carluccios will do the rest.
