Bubble teas have arrived at Harvey Nichols. Rupert Street’s Bubbleology has just launched at the Fifth Floor Foodmarket.
Bubble Tea originated from Taiwan in the early Eighties and said bubbles are created by the vigorous shaking involved its making. There are now over 8000 Bubble Tea Cafés alone in Taiwan. The drinks, served warm or cool, have a red or green tea base, which are infused with delicious fruit flavourings from Passioin Fruit to Kumquat with the addition of caramelly but 0% fat tapioca ‘boba’ pearls at the bottom.
Expect to be served by expert trained Bubbleologists dressed like scientists in lab coats – just so you know they mean business. The mixologists in the adjoining bar may not be getting twitchy but they certainly have competition…
