A starring role for The May Fair Hotel

12th October 2011

Kicking off the 55th BFI London Film Festival today is a silver screen spectacular from The May Fair Hotel which boasts a serious filmic heritage harking back in the 1950s when it was owned by Elstree Studio founders the American Danziger Brothers. The venue is transforming its famous facade with screens into a giant movie theatre, hosting midnight shows and serving up silver screen inspired cocktails and gourmet popcorn. On Friday 21 October all hotel guests will be invited to watch a complimentary cult classic at midnight in the hotel's luxury 201-seater theatre but everyone can get a piece of the action when it comes to the windows as they'll become mini cinema screens showing highlights from the Festival. The May Fair has also designed a cast of film inspired cocktails for its bar including Gone With The Wind (Mint Julep), Some Like it Hot (a modern twist on Marilyn favourite, The Manhattan), Casablanca (Champagne – what else?) and Mr Bond (your classic martini shaken or stirred). Nibble Joe & Seph's superior gourmet popcorn with flavours such as Goat's Cheese & Black Pepper, Toffee Apple with Cinnamon and Smooth Caramel, Pepper & Chilli and feed your inner movie star.
