Amid all our futuristic mod-cons and constant innovations, isn’t it lovely finding things from yesteryear?

At the Winter Antiques Fair in Olympia, you can do just this.

All items on sale and on display will be of guaranteed top quality, not least because, the fair (in its 21st year), is supported by the British Antique Dealers’ Association and every exhibitor is present only after approval by a panel of leading art experts.

Among the grandfather clocks, armoirs, paintings, etc, some highlights are being spoken about already: Laura Bordignon (Asian specialist) will have with her a 27 inch Japanese Samurai warrior made out of bronze, while Garth Vincent will have an Italian helmet dating from the 16th Century, as well as a brass-barrelled flintlock officers pistol, from the 18th Century.

The fair runs from Nov 14 – 20.
