Best of British at Bluebird

14th February 2012

Celebrate the Best of British (fashion) where it all began on London’s King’s Road. To coincide with London Fashion Week, The Shop at Bluebird is launching an exhibition showcasing seminal images of pivotal moments in British fashion history dating back over 50 years. The images have been hand-picked by fashion magazine O: By Tank and many centre around the King’s Road locale including the opening of Mary Quant’s boutique Bazaar in 1955; Ossie Clark’s show at Chelsea Town Hall and the day in 1977 when Vivienne Westwood’s SEX boutique at World’s End was renamed Seditionaries marking a new era for the queen of the anti-establishment. The exhibition finishes up with modern day creations by Meadham Kirchhoff, Erdem and Jonathan Saunders via shots from Galliano’s graduate show and Stella McCartney’s catwalk debut. We feel a little shopping spree coming on…
