Since last Friday designers, models, bloggers, fashionistas and rock stars have swept the streets in one svelt sweep. One could certainly be forgiven for forgetting that a world outside Burberry, Victoria Beckham’s eye bags and 'the' Mary Katrantzou Topshop dress exists.
Nevertheless, with February's fashion frenzy and the big freeze finally over, sunnier skies and Spring offer a great chance to get reenergised with new ideas. So if you want some fresh inspiration, then put The 'WIE' Symposium (‘Women Inspiration and Enterprise') in your diary. WIE Symposium is the brainchild of June Sarpong (former T4 presenter) and Dee Poku, created to motivate and educate women by hosting key women speakers from the worlds of business, politics, fashion and entertainment to lead a series of panels and workshops.
WIE Symposium launched in New York last year and talks from Donna Karen, Nancy Pelosi, Queen Rania of Jordan and Christy Turlington were a huge hit. This year, WIE Symposium will take place in London on International Women’s Day, Thursday 8th March with some equally compelling talks from Jo Malone, Jo Elvin, Kathy Lette, Lynn de Rothschild, Lynne Franks and Julie Meyer amongst others. The talks will include; Tools for the Entrepreneur, Women and Leadership, Women in Media, The Luxury Industry and Financial Tools for Success. The day will also launch the WIE Mentorship Scheme – a program designed to provide long term support and advice from leading businesswomen to young women about to embark on their careers.
The event will take place at The Hospital Club in London and tickets are available at www.wienetwork.org at £150.00 per person.
If you want to get inspired, WIE is your chance.
