Today sees the launch of a brand new commission by Manifold Editions: Marc Quinn Sphinx, two intricately detailed silkscreen prints, in gold and silver leaf, of the artist’s well-known sculpture of supermodel Kate Moss – her limbs contorted in an extreme yoga pose! “She is a contemporary version of the Sphinx, a mystery,” says the artist of La Moss. “There must be something about her that has clicked with the collective unconscious to make her so ubiquitous, so spirit of the age.” The new contemporary online gallery and art publisher will show the prints as part of their first public exhibition at Front Room in St Martins Lane alongside further brand-new prints by Quinn and Damien Hirst and others by Gary Hume, Elizabeth Magill and 2011 Turner Prize nominee George Shaw.
The images of Moss, from £960, will be exclusively available to buy for one day only at Front Room on 10 May and thereafter online from Manifold Editions.
Exhibition runs 10– 27 May, Monday-Friday, 11am-7pm and noon – 6pm Saturday and Sunday, at the Front Room, St Martins Lane, 45 St Martin’s Lane WC2. www.manifoldeditions.com
