In the run up to the Olympics, The Capital Hotel is flying the British flag this summer.  It is currently offering a very sporting tea. So what’s on the menu? Think Valhrona chocolate dumbbells, a Winners’ Podium of glazed lemon sponge, Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals with Valhrona chocolate buttons on poppy seed and ginger sable biscuits and Basket Balls (that’s glazed carrot cake) – all served alongside delicate sandwiches and home-made scones with clotted cream and The Capital’s own jams, £25pp. Guests will dine amidst stunning arrangements of indigenous English flowers created by Hayford & Rhodes and while cakes ‘n’ cream might not be the best fuel for Olympic athletes they will suit the rest of us just fine thank you very much!
