A touch of Wonderland in Quaglino’s

Next month Quaglino’s restaurant in St James’s will host an exhibition of images from fine art photographer Kirsty Mitchell. The exhibition, entitled Selected Works from the Wonderland Series, will showcase a selection of Mitchell’s stunning, unique images plus some of the props and costumes that featured in their creation. Originally conceived as a small project in memory of Kirsty’s mother and the stories she told to Kirsty as a child, the series has taken three years to reach its final stages. As well shooting the images, Kirsty also handcrafts the costumes and props for each, often waiting months to coincide her shoots with striking features in the natural landscape from snowstorms to blossom in full bloom. Bar manager Michal Zawerbny has also created a range of floral cocktails inspired by Kirsty’s work so while you marvel at the exhibition you can sip on a ‘Gossamer Wing’ – London Dry gin infused with lavender, fresh apple and lime juice, gomme sugar and a dash of Bleu Curaçao garnished with lavender.
