InterContinental London Park Lane has recently unveiled their new Royal Suite, paying homage to the site of the hotel, 145 Piccadilly the location of the Queen’s former childhood residence. Designed by The Gallery, the suite which is situated on the 8th floor at the heart of the ‘By Royal Appointment’ suite, encapsulates and emulates the signature styles and elegance of the Queen from childhood to the present. The suite painted in a mix of pastel palettes and bolder brighter colours is decorated with delicate detail, such as the opulent hand – blown glass chandelier inspired by Her Majesty’s diamond collection and the flora lined satin canopy in the master bedroom that celebrates the backdrops used by Cecil Beaton in his portraits of the Queen. The study area with its books carefully curated by Taschen, white leather wingback chair and traditional writing desk overlooks Hyde Park and Knightsbridge, providing one of the most inspirational places to study or reflect. The beautiful art work features limited edition signed giclée prints by Ann Carrington who designed the Royal Jubilee Banner for the stern of the Royal Barge, the Spirit of Chartwell as well as antique framed postcards and sketches of the Queen’s beloved corgis. Throughout the suite are luxurious finishes including By Royal Appointment amenities from Penhaligons, antique furniture and distressed smoked oak floors. In the heart of glamorous Mayfair the beautiful suite has stunning panoramic views across the Royal Parks, the perfect finishing touch.
