The London Eye shares 13th birthday

11th March 2013

Last weekend, the London Eye showed why it is such a city institution, jointly celebrating its 13th anniversary with the birthday of a young boy from Chiswick! Armaan Ali, born on exactly the same day as the opening of the London Eye in 2000, was treated to a complimentary birthday party capsule to celebrate turning thirteen with the world famous landmark. The London Eye was alerted to the shared birthday when Ali’s father Javaid got in touch – he said, ‘I was just wondering what they would say, but they really have pulled out all the stops. There’s been cake and juice and Champagne for the adults and memories that will last a lifetime.’ Who wouldn’t enjoy celebrating their birthday while soaring above the city? Armaan, surprised by the gesture, said that he normally held a party at home – ‘but today I can see it from 400 feet in the air!’
