For two consecutive weekends this May and June, George Craig and Terry Edwards, founders of the London supper club concept, Check On, will take up residency in the Billiard Room at Sanderson. They have created a series of experiential evenings entitled Great British Classics, to celebrate British food and music and an eight course-tasting menu plays out to a soundtrack of iconic records amplified throughout the space by an original Dansette record player. The Great British Classics menu features “Ploughman’s Lunch” – A pressed terrine of ham hock and Lancashire cheese with pickled onions and soft boiled quails egg, “Fish and Chips” – A deep fried scallop served with mushy peas and potato crisps and or “A cup of Tea” – Earl Grey mousse with a rich tea chocolate biscuit. Craig, a former face of Burberry is also lead singer of Brit band, One Night Only and Edwards is a Mark Hix protégé formerly of Le Gavroche.
