As summer approaches and the bikini bods are being revealed, people are becoming more health conscious about the food they’re eating with winter stodge being replaced by light summer bites and Gourmet Burger Kitchen is no different. They have come up with the ‘naked burger’ – a burger sans the carb filled bun, simple right? They offer the option of adding GBK coleslaw with Grilled corn on the cob or a Simple Green Salad at only 50p extra.
When The Handbook popped down to GBK, Notting Hill we indulged in a bunless burger in the form of the Avocado, bacon and beef burger which is served with salad, mayo & relish. We had a side of Rosemary and thyme chips, which were a Handbook favourite and definite must have, as well as the Haloumi Bites which are served with kiwi fruit & habanero sauce. Kiwi is running theme through the restaurant even featuring on the burger menu with the Kiwiburger (beef patty, beetroot, egg, pineapple, aged Cheddar, salad, mayo & relish) where diners have the option of adding a 25p voluntary donation to help save a kiwi, (bird not the fruit!) The donation to the kiwis is a shout out the New Zealand heritage of the three creators of GBK.
