Hot Pink Grill has a simple menu idea complete with fresh, uncomplicated ingredients and an eco friendly approach to producing the food. Diners pick from a selection of 12 mains, divided into 4 categories; meat, chicken, fish and vegetarian. They then add one of six sides and an option of either Garlic & Herb, BBQ, Spicy Pink or Hot Pink Pesto sauce.
When The Handbook checked out the latest addition to the Wimbledon Broadway we selected the Half chicken with Sweet potato fries and Spicy Pink sauce as well as the Halloumi & 7 Veg Stack (grilled halloumi, red/yellow pepper, aubergine, courgette, red onion, sun blushed tomatoes, avocado & dairy free pesto). First orders are to be chosen at the counter and then following drinks and desserts are ordered through table service. Both meals arrived on metal trays with complimentary coleslaw. The Half chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender while the Halloumi and 7 Veg stack was a neat pile of deliciously grilled vegetables and halloumi cheese.
Seeing as cheesecake is 50% of the dessert menu it would rude not to indulge in one, choose from a Strawberry and clotted cream version or the Honeycomb option. The Handbook can safely recommend both, although there is also an award winning Chocolate brownie or Apple and sultana bake for the less cheesecake minded. All puddings can be accompanied by Skinny custard (only 150 cals), a hot drink (filter coffee, English breakfast/ chamomile/ peppermint tea) or Fat free frozen yoghurt.
Hot Pink Grill is a compassionate eatery that cares about protecting the planet and it does its part to help by only using sustainable ingredients, not selling bottled mineral water (which they believe puts a huge demand on the Earth) and even the menus are recyclable. If you can’t finish your milkshake (vanilla, strawberry, chocolate or peanut butter and jelly crunch) the kind folks at Hot Pink Grill will transfer it to plastic cup to take away helping to minimise waste.
