At the first glimpse of warm weather The Handbook decided we need to venture outside and enjoy the new found summer and what better time than for the launch of Rekorderlig Midsummer House last night? Situated in Victoria Park, next to the lake, lies a bold, red pop up with the Swedish flag protruding from the front. Inside the summer house’s exterior is a chic bar and lounge area to relax in out of way of the sun. The bar is currently serving the classic flavours of Rekorderlig like Mixed berries and Strawberry-lime as well as the limited edition Passionfruit and new addition Mango and raspberry. The clever folk at Rekorderlig have invented some new ways to drink their fruity ciders with their unique Rekorderlig cocktails. We can recommend the Svenska cup, Strawberry-lime Rekorderlig, elderflower cordial and Absolut vodka. Another favourite was the Rekorderlig Apple and blackcurrant served with gin, lemon juice and Monin vanilla gomme.
In the garden area are cosy bean bag loungers and stools to relax in but the best feature is the BBQ serving a very special menu of Korv med brod-Swedish style hot dogs served with a variety of toppings including wild lingonberry (made with Rekorderlig Wild berries and is a summer eat must!), cucumber relish, prawn salad and Danish Remoulade.
The Midsummer House opens today for two weeks 6-11pm weekdays, 12-5pm and 6-11pm weekends.
