Fashion season is almost upon us again. As the leading powerhouses in fashion; London, New York, Paris and Milan prepare to see the stylish and iconic flock to them, the Dorchester Collection are preparing in a slightly different way, with the introduction of new cocktails because if two things go hand in hand then it must be fashion and cocktails.
The cocktails are the results of the shortlisted finalists of the 2013 Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize having collaborated with the various bar directors and managers. Served in five of the hotels, those in London, Milan, Paris, Geneva and LA, the cocktails will be available from the September 5th when New York Fashion week starts until the end of Paris Fashion Week on 2nd October.
London’s collaboration is between designer Emilia Wickstead and The Dorchester’s Giuliano Morandin. Mixed with Canton ginger liquor, passion fruit, lemon juice and topped with Champagne, the delicious gin based cocktail simply but wonderfully named ‘The Emilia’, is inspired by the designer’s two favourite cocktails, The Moscow Mule and the Fruit Martini.
But Emilia’s touch is not just seen in the drink, served in a Champagne coupe the cocktail emulates the style and glamour of the 1930s which is a key era in Dior couture, which has been a big inspiration to Emilia in her own work. The other designers who have created their own cocktails are Barbara Casasola, Huishan Zhang and duo Fyodor Golan.
So after running from show to show in London, finish the day with a cocktail worthy of London Fashion Week at The Dorchester.
