Asia de Cuba at  St Martins Lane Hotel and Luna & Curious have done away with the traditional cucumber sandwiches and strawberry jam synonymous with afternoon tea in place of a more exotic, experiential tea. Cafécito & Afternoon Tea will send guests into the mystique and ambiance of a Cuban teahouse with a mix of Asian and Cuban teas, cocktails and treats.

Luna & Curious are in charge of designing and creating the bespoke crockery and  as every diner is seated they will be presented with a classic handmade wooden cigar box which contains their tea utensils.

Rather than finding smoked salmon sandwiches on the menu, you will instead find Cubano pressed sandwiches with BBQ pulled pork, beef and vegetable empanadas with Caribbean hot sauce. Exotic afternoon teas still have room for scones, except these scones come with mojito butter. Following on from this guests can indulge in Asia de Cuba’s mini Mexican doughnuts filled with butterscotch sauce, banana spring rolls filled with white chocolate and coconut ganache, and  key lime pie topped with soft meringue.

All the tends have been specially chosen by luxury tea supplier JING and Alejandro Bolivar the legendary bartender at Floridita in Havana, Cuba has created a series of eclectic cocktails such as Old Cuban Martinis and Passionate about Tea.

Goodbye traditional afternoon tea, hello Cafécito & Afternoon Tea.
