Daphne’s Drawings to support Great Ormond Street Hospital

Daphne’s Drawings to support Great Ormond Street Hospital

South Kensington favourite, Daphne’s have teamed up with some of Britain’s most loved celebrities to create 13 unique works which will go on sale to raise money for a new four bay ward on the cardiac ward at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Handbook went down to check them out.

The celebrities who include Bill Nighy, Jessie J, Helena Bonham Carter and Jade Jagger were all given a simple pen and ink sketch of several heart balloons created by East London illustrator Emiloumakes and were let loose to interpret it in any way they wanted.  The result, 13 completely individual and unique designs, from Theo Fennell’s slightly eerie and though provoking sketch, to Giles Deacons bold, futuristic design to Zaha Hadid who transformed her sketch into a mirror. But for The Handbook it was all about Alan Rickman’s simple, design of the heart balloons in a vase.

The works will be going on sale from this week at £1000 each on a first come first served basis and for a piece of one of a kind, original art work we suggest you head to Daphne's quick.
