Charlotte Street welcomes Master Patissier Eric Lanlard to the hotel as part of ‘Food & Film’, taking place throughout September.
As well as being a seasoned presenter of Channel 4’s Baking Mad, Lanlard also has his own destination café and cookery school in the heart of London. Add this to working alongside Albert and Michel Roux and a range of cook books including Tart it Up and Chocolat and you can see why he is a Master Patissier.
On Monday 30th September, Eric Lanlard will introduce his favourite foodie film ‘Babette’s Feast’ in Charlotte Street’s very own screening room. The film focuses on Babette’s attempt to create a real French dinner after winning the lottery; however, it is fiercely rejected by the village elders, exploring the village’s moral strength in rejecting the meal versus the irresistible pleasure of Babette’s cooking.
Lanlard has chosen the film based on his love of showcasing the passion and appreciation of great French food, “I really enjoy sitting back and looking at people enjoying themselves. That gives me joy, even if my wallet is empty”.
For an evening of great food, (a three course meal is served too) and a wonderful cinema, the Food & Film month at Charlotte Street Hotel is just the ticket.
