If you’re looking to indulge your competitive side then look no further than Chelsea’s iconic restaurant, The Bluebird. To celebrate the start of England’s oyster season this landmark venue, situated on the King’s Road, will be hosting an oyster shucking competition on the 7th of September.
Taking place in their courtyard all competitors will have to battle with their oyster to shuck, dress and eat it as quickly as possible. All participants will be given a glass of wine and, of course, allowed to enjoy the fruits of their labors. The victorious ‘shucker’ will also receive a bottle of Moet & Chanson Champagne.
Oyster Meister, renowned oyster supplier, will also be joining in the celebrations marking the start of the season by setting up a stall at The Bluebird on the day. However, if oysters aren’t your thing don’t let that keep you away, the restaurant will be doing a barbeque for those looking for something a little less fishy!
