The Bedford in Balham will be launching a brand new Purl London pop-up, which will run from 5 November 2013 to 27 April 2014. Purl is a Marylebone-based cocktail specialist that uses aromas, foams, airs, liquid nitrogen, and much more to create impressive cocktails that appeal to all the senses, transporting the guest to another place or time. Purl at The Bedford will be showcasing all of the ‘forgotten Purls’ – Purl’s most popular cocktails that are no longer on the Purl Marylebone menu.
Available exclusively at Purl at The Bedford, the confirmed cocktails will include signature creation ‘Mr Hyde’s Fixer Upper’ which is a unique concoction of Zacapa 23 rum, Bob’s Chocolate Bitters, homemade cola syrup with Pedro Ximenez smoke, dry ice and lapsang souchong tea. Other ‘forgotten Purls’ include the Rum Grog and the Champagne Caviar.
To add an interesting twist to the pop-up, lovers of the Marylebone Purl can request their favourite cocktails on twitter, and the most popular drinks will be chosen to feature at Purl at The Bedford. The menu will be shuffled around every couple of weeks, so keep voting for your favourite!
Managing Director Bryan Pieterson says ‘We’re all looking forward to reviving these Forgotten Purls…We’ve gone back through our recipe book to dig out some of our greatest hits from the first three years of Purl, and can’t wait to serve them up to a new crowd in our South London pop-up’.
So if you’re a Purl Marylebone regular and you miss your old favourite cocktail, or if you’re based in Balham and you fancy tasting these innovative creations, then head down to The Bedford in Balham. The pop-up is available Tuesday-Saturday, 5pm-midnight.
