The Berkeley is launching its famous Prêt-à-Portea’s Autumn/Winter collection, featuring a Burberry trench coat-shaped spiced ginger biscuit with caramel icing and Saint Laurent’s red duffle Victoria sponge cake bag, along with Jean Paul Gaultier cremeux and Vivienne Westwood macaroons.
Located near to Harvey Nichols and Harrods, this is the perfect afternoon treat for the fashion-savvy crowd. Oscar de la Renta is celebrated with his orange bavarois with shocking pink chocolate embroidery, as well as Emporio Armani with a warm winter violet cases moisse and light Curacao jelly, and Gianvito Rossi with a chocolate over-the-knee boot biscuit.
In order to add this unique fashion twist to classic elements of the traditional English afternoon tea, The Berkeley pastry chefs attend London Fashion Week to find inspiration for colours, textures and designs: this season’s Prêt-à-Portea will therefore focus on festive sparkles and patterns, and soft pink hues.
In addition, Wedgwood has designed a bespoke collection of fine bone china for The Berkeley’s Prêt-à-Portea with delicate multicoloured diamond-shaped patterns. This is also available to purchase from The Berkeley.
So if you like afternoon tea as much as we do, go and try The Berkeley’s unique offering – you won’t be disappointed. Prêt-à-Portea is served in The Caramel Room daily from 1-6pm.
