Ice-skating is a popular festive activity for all age groups in London at Christmas time. With famous rinks at Somerset House, The Tower of London and the V&A, to name but a few, there will be a new addition this year: the Courtyard at Bluebird Chelsea will be hosting a glamorous skating rink, flooded with colourful lighting, right in the heart of Chelsea.
The rink will be open all day, and into the evening, from 11 November until 5 January, so it could be the perfect break from a long day of Christmas shopping on King’s Road. Guests can enjoy some festive fun on the rink, and then head into The Bluebird café to warm up over a 'Fondue for Two', or into the first floor restaurant, which overlooks the rink, to taste the range of Belvedere cocktails that will be available along with the usual dining treats.
General Manager, Jean-Baptiste Requien says: ‘The Bluebird Skating Rink is a project we have been trying to implement for a few years now and I am delighted that 2013 is our debut. The courtyard provides the perfect setting for the rink and I am extremely excited to announce its arrival.’
Bluebird will be hosting a VIP launch party to celebrate the opening of the ice rink on 14 November. This will be sponsored by Belvedere vodka, so celebratory cocktails and canapés will be available, and the rink will be open. Belvedere will also be re-introducing (BELVEDERE)RED, a special edition bottle which will launch on 20 October, to raise money for The Global Fund which helps fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.
