Charm School comes to The Cadogan Hotel: Review

Back to Lifestyle

This week The Handbook went down to the Cadogan Hotel on Sloane Street to take part in Charm School. Run by the Mistress of Manners, Dana, Charm School’s aim is to make sure we all know the correct etiquette when it comes to social situations and modern life.

Tuesdays for us normally involve ‘start of the week’ cocktails or mindless television, so we thought we would shake things up a bit and take part in a class all about the art of small talk and professional networking.

But don’t be fooled by the words ‘small talk’ or ‘class’ because this was anything but dull! With Lucy Baker the games maven (and founder of Everybody’s It) we played a series of games that helped us to remember and learn top tips for networking at events. Everything from meeting someone for the first time, (a good hand shake is key) to how to get out of talking to someone who is just frightfully boring.

The sessions are informal, fun and a great way to learn some key skills and meet new people. Future events include lessons in posture and romantic encounters!
