On 25 November, Harrods and will open the world’s first Disney boutique experience outside of a Disney Park & Resort: a Cinderella-inspired ‘Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique’. It will be the centrepiece of the new ‘Disney at Harrods’ venture, which also includes a bespoke Disney Store, which opened on 1 November, and the Disney Café which will be refreshed over the coming months.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience will create the ultimate magical storytelling experience. Children will enter a sparkling fairytale castle within Harrods, where their very own fairy godmother-in-training will greet them and teach them how to become the perfect princesses and knights, which will include lessons on kindness and bravery, and a complete fairytale makeover.
Anna Hill, Vice President of The Walt Disney Company in the UK and Ireland, has said ‘Our partnership with Harrods will bring Disney magic to an iconic British store in a completely unique way. The Boutique lets children step into the world of classic Disney characters, celebrate the qualities like kindness and bravery that make them true heroes and heroines, and be transformed as Cinderella was in the famous Fairy Godmother scene from the movie. We hope the experience will create memories that families can enjoy for a lifetime.’
Store Direct at Harrods, Mark Briggs comments on the venture: ‘There’s only one Harrods, and there’s only one Disney but this partnership shows what can be achieved when two iconic brands work together. Disney at Harrods will create a magical day out in itself, shopping for exclusive products at Disney Store, enjoying a meal together with added imagination at the themed Café and experiencing a royal transformation in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – we can’t wait to start welcoming guests.’
So if you’re thinking about what to buy your little princesses and princes this Christmas, Harrods might have your answer – we only wish this had been around when we were young!
