A slice of Middle Eastern cuisine has landed in Mayfair with the launch of Mamounia Lounge on Curzon Street.
Set over two floors, from the sounds of it, it is all opulence and decadence with gold, bronze, deep jewel colours and beautiful chandeliers and the scent of orange blossom and jasmine decorating the air.
Diners are encouraged to indulge in banquet style dining with tables being crowded with mezze, pastries, charcoal cooked meats, couscous and dishes such as cheese Sambousek. Classic Arabic dishes will also be being served up with a Mayfair flair, think tender tagines served in traditional clay pots and honeyed bites of Baklava.
Come the evening belly dancers and traditional Middle Eastern musicians will take to the restaurant to entertain guests. Descending into the subterranean restaurant and bar, guests will be met by the colour, noise and excitement of an enchanted souk, lit by twinkling candles and scented with burning incense.
Outside you will find a snug terrace with a full canopy, heated flooring and an exciting Shisha menu which will be paired with innovative cocktails. The shishas are prepared with the finest molasses, ripe fruit such as apples and watermelon.
Mamounia Lounge Mayfair is available for private events, exclusive hire and corporate occasions for up to 230 which is perfect with Christmas parties approaching! Next week we will be heading over to try it out ourselves so we will report back! Watch this space.
