On Sunday night we braved the elements, forgot about the impending storm that was meant to be hitting us that night and headed over to Broadway House in Fulham where the Press Play cinema (they’ve had a bit of a rebrand and change from the WhyNot Cinema) has taken up residency on Sunday nights.
Showing a different film every Sunday, we were there for the Halloween edition to see the horribly scary ‘The Strangers’. Starting at 7pm we turned up suitably wrapped up against the cold night to find the roof terrace at Broadway House had been turned into a twinkling, cosy little cinema. Under the canopy there were seats, bean bags, snuggly blankets, free popcorn (big winner), pick and mix and drinks can be bought downstairs at the bar. Forget the commercial big cinemas this is the sort of cinema experience we want, it’s intimate, friendly (and much better price wise).
Just because it is Sunday night doesn’t mean you have to stay in, make the most of every last minute, grab a bunch of friends, definitely take a blanket to wrap yourself in and maybe some gloves and settle down, it’s like your own little private cinema above the bustle of Fulham Broadway. Oh and rumour has it that Press Play are about to launch new food and film events so stay tuned!
