Wharf Kitchen, founded by Thomas Ermacora, is part of the LimeWharf innovation hub in East London, and is the perfect place to enjoy fresh, healthy food – ideal for a nutritious breakfast, a quick but hearty work lunch, or a seasonal drink on a Friday evening. Chef Matthew Casey loves cooking delicious Scottish, Latin American and Scandinavian dishes from an English angle.
As well as the usual juices, soups, salads and sandwiches, there is also a slow-cooked dish of the day like cock-a-leekie broth or mince and tatties, as well as some wholesome regular dishes like spiced bean bon bons with baba ganoush, beetroot and goats curd salad, Brixham soused sea bream with pickled cucumber and piccalilli salad, and Trealy farm smoked bacon and chunky root vegetable soup.
The food is served on vintage crockery, and diners will eat at canteen tables in the warehouse space. There will also be some products available for purchase, including homemade chutneys and organic vegetables. Wharf Kitchen is definitely worth a visit if you live or work in the area and you're after a hearty but healthy meal.
